Op 27 oktober hielden de leerlingen van c2x1 hun presentaties over het project "School Trip" voor het vak Engels. Lees hier het verslag.

School Trip

This lesson, we have to present our project ‘the school trip’ to the class. For the project, we have to make a journey through a country of our own choice. It is a journey for the pupils of Northolt High School and there are many exercises which belong to this project, like a letter to the parents of the pupils, the journey itself, a bring along list, a suitcase, a time table, a guidebook with useful  expressions and a good presentation. We thought it was a very nice project, and we are going to tell about the presentations we have seen.

First, it was Pim ’s, Hoi-Ming’s and Aaron’s turn. They went to Spain and had everything in a folder. For their suitcase, they have used a trolley with a rugby ball, a T-shirt of FC Barcelona, a red blanket for the bullfights and a coin from Spain. They even had some extra pictures of Barcelona! Their English was good. It was very brave to go first, and they did very well.

The next presentation was from Floor, Meghann and Dalian. They went to Wales, that is part of Great-Britain. They have chosen  it, because Meghann’s name is from there. We think that that is a very original reason! They presented their project in a PowerPoint. It is very useful, because we can see the pictures life-size and it is very clear. Their English was very good and because they know what they want to tell, they know how to say it in English…

Then, it is time for triple Bas. We call them like that, because they are all called Bas. For clarity, their last names are van Putten, van der Burgh and Kroon. Their trip went to London, Oxford and Stonehenge. All of them are very well-known activities/places in Great-Britain. They also made a original guidebook, which is called ‘Engels voor dummies’.

And finally, it is our turn! We went to Scotland. At the beginning of our presentation, Iris came into the classroom in a kilt with a bagpipe. In the background we have played some bagpipe music . After they have  listened for a minute ,we have given them some ‘scotch’. Actually it was ice tea. We have put all our things in a folder, told something about it and then we handed it in to miss Kesoemoarso.

After our presentation, it was Derk’s, Daaf’s and Tolga’s turn. They made a trip to Liverpool. They have started with the objects from their suitcase, then they played a little soccer game. And then we have to guess to which city they were going to. We thought it was a very funny way to begin the presentation. Well done guys! Their English was also very good.

After them came Bas Meijer and Niels. They were going to Amsterdam. The suitcase contains 5 postcards with different themes. It was a very original idea to go to Holland where we all live. They showed us with the postcards some typical parts of Amsterdam. It was fun because we know the most attractions in Amsterdam, and with us all the classmates.

And last but not least, a trip to Brazil, organized by Jelmar, Kristian and Peter. It was the journey that was the most far away. And because of that very special. They had a very original suitcase because they have stuck pictures of Brazil on it.
We thought everybody has done a good job!
